The China Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, officially named Light of China, is one of the largest national pavilions at the event, covering an area of 4,636 square meters. The Beidou Navigation Satellite System is the centerpiece of the China Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, tracing the history of human space exploration and highlighting the system’s global service capabilities and future development vision. Located in the Exploration and Discovery Zone of the China Pavilion, the 3D Beidou Satellite installation serves as the visual focal point and delivers a stunning immersive light show for visitors.
Created by Seekway Innovations, the 3D Volumetric LED Display acted as an innovative visual medium that broke through the limitations of traditional display forms. Instead of using flat screens or physical models alone, it reconstructed the satellite’s shape, orbit, and working state in a three-dimensional space, allowing visitors to gain an intuitive and vivid understanding of Beidou’s technological achievements.
The intelligent robot WalkerX accompanies visitors throughout their exhibition journey, combining interactive experiences with new media art to inject new vitality into the global promotion of Beidou’s aerospace science and technology.
The 3D Beidou Satellite lighting installation adopts Seekway Innovations’ 3D qGrid solution, a custom 3D display solution paired with high-transparency LED display and featuring three core strengths: high transparency, high precision and high pixel density. This 3D qGrid LED display solution earned the prestigious 2020 ALighting Award for Best Product—one of the highest honors in the global lighting industry—along with many other top industry awards, providing flawless support for immersive, all-dimensional visuals.
This lighting installation delivers ultra-high-definition 3D LED display with hundreds of millions of pixels, 4096-level color grayscale (68.7 billion colors), and a stable 60fps frame rate.The 3D qGrid solution additionally supports somatosensory interaction, music visualization, cloud interaction, AI interaction and other multi-scenario human-computer interaction experiences.
It also enables remote real-time control and unified management, facilitating diversified cross-scenario interactive displays for commercial and exhibition applications.
During Expo 2020 Dubai, the 3D Beidou Satellite exhibit, together with smart city models, future concept cars, and intelligent robot demonstrations, attracted massive crowds and became one of the most photographed and shared highlights in the China Pavilion.
